What is this all about...
Who the bloody hell are you?
I am a tinkerer, previously in operations management and currently taking the leap in to cyber security. I began my tech journey in 2017 with a small homelab before focusing in to cyber security in 2021. I see my self as more of a generalist in IT but I spend the most time on networking and experimenting at operating system level. I love participating in CTF events (capture the flag, almost like a cyber escape room with many small challenges) with my team, CTFing Fun.
Why does this even exist?
After some great advice from a penetration tester at B-Sides security conference, I realised that I needed to practice my technical writing. With that, this blog was born. Here you will find some CTF write ups, my studies, and other cyber security pieces.
What on earth is a 'homelab'?
This is where my tinkering started. Initially, it was just as simple of wanting
to turn on the lights automatically when the sun set, it quickly grew from a small raspberry pi behind my computer to a full server rack in my lounge. It is a place were I can test, deploy, break, hack or defend any application or system I want. To me, it's like some sort of mechanical, heat producing, loud fan whirring child or crazy art and science project that is ever growing and changing.
